Flip The Neuro-tive
An interview series that challenges the narrative on neurodivergent people’s lives and amplify their voices to a multiplicity of perspectives on the lived experiences of Neurodivergent folks.
Our goal is to celebrate and support neurodivergent individuals, advocating for their inclusion across all stages of life.
Neurodiversity is not a one size fits all.
Neurodiversity stands at a pivotal moment, grappling with barriers to unleash its full potential. The core challenge lies in society's narrow perception of neurodivergent people, necessitating a paradigm shift.
From Superficial Representations To Authentic Amplification
While awareness grows, it often takes the form of surface-level gestures (Hashtags, incomplete representation in awareness campaigns), highlighting the need for genuine commitment to dismantling stereotypes and amplifying diverse voices.
More than ADHD and Autism!
The disproportionate attention given to popular conditions like ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia often overshadows the rich Neurodivergent landscape comprising 40+ neurological conditions, hereby neglecting equally valid but less sensationalized ones and distorting our understanding of neurodiversity like Bipolar II or Cerebral Palsy.
From Overseeing Intersectionality to Inclusive Representation.
One significant hurdle that distorts the Neurodiversity movement and neuroinclusive efforts is the oversight of Intersectionality, sidelining crucial identity dimensions like race, age, gender or social class.
Sharing neurodivergent success stories won't suffice if the narrative remains in outdated tropes.
That is why this project is brought to you by LAUDACE For Neurodiversity Celebration week (Dates) and Neurodiversity Awareness Month (April).
An innovative interview-series challenging stereotypes and reshaping perceptions by addressing deficit framing, societal exclusion, and stereotypical presentations of neurodivergents.
We celebrate and support neurodivergent individuals, advocating for their inclusion across all stages of life.
